It is my great honor to be the pastor at Byrd's Chapel Church. I hope to bring a unique perspective to our congregation. I am a dedicated educator with a passion for both history and community service. Therefore, my love for the church is deeply rooted in a long history, having been established in 1820, as well as a proven track record of mission work in our community.  

As I step into this vital role, I aim to strengthen our bonds and inspire growth, by being committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. Join us as we embark on a new chapter together as we move forward in Christ’s love.

As the Children’s Church Leader and VBS Coordinator at my church, I am eager about nurturing the faith and imagination of our youngest members. Each time our youth & kids are together, I strive to create a welcoming and vibrant environment where children can explore their spirituality through engaging stories, uplifting music, and fun activities. My mission is to inspire them to grow in their relationship with God while building lasting friendships.

During VBS, we embark on a week of adventure and discovery, fostering a love for Jesus that will guide them throughout their lives. It is a joy and privilege to witness their growth and joy in faith. Together, we are planting seeds of hope and love that will flourish for years to come!

As the worship leader at Byrd's Chapel Church, I am passionate about creating an atmosphere where hearts can connect with God through music and worship. I strive to inspire and uplift our community, guiding them in heartfelt expressions of faith. My goal is to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome to participate, allowing each individual to encounter the transformative power of worship. Together, we celebrate our faith, deepen our relationships, and cultivate a spirit of unity that resonates far beyond our services. Join us as we lift our voices and hearts in praise!

Hi there! II am in charge of our Facebook Live video feed, podcasts and slideshow presenter at Byrd's Chapel Church, where I love bringing our community together through creative visuals. Each week, I craft presentations that highlight our services, events, and special moments, making sure everyone feels connected and inspired. It’s a joy to use my skills to enhance our worship experience and share our church’s story with warmth and enthusiasm!

Hi! I'm Colleen Stracener, and I have the joy of serving as Byrds Chapel Church's 

Administrative Assistant and Music Director.

On any given day, you'll find me helping keep the church office running, planning worship services, directing The Song Byrds choir, or playing the piano on Sunday mornings. Beyond Byrds Chapel, I also teach piano at Picayune Music and music at the Rising Stars of Picayune Theatre Company, so music has always been a big part of my life.

My husband, Roger, and I are blessed with two daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, three amazing granddaughters, a lively crew of dogs, and plenty of chickens that keep life interesting!
